Beauty Myths...

They lied to us! For years we have all been pondering beauty myths, is it true? Is it fake?
You’re busted! There are enough tips and tricks out there, so let’s sort through them. These are the beauty myths I have uncovered.

# Split ends can be repaired…
The only way you will rid your hair of those spidery ends is to get your hairdresser to chop them off.

# You are able to shrink your pores…
Our pore size is genetically determined. Bacteria and dead skin cells can make pores appear larger. So exfoliate and clean skin!

# Chocolate gives you pimples…
Once thought to be true because women eat more junk food when they’re anxious or pre-menstrual. I eat it all the time and I don’t get spots from it. So FAB’s, break some more off!

# Lemon will give you a brighter smile…
Lemon was once thought to be able to whiten teeth…it actually wears away the enamel on your teeth. But, lemons do help to brighten your locks.

# Organic products don’t work as well as chemical ones…

Honestly, who comes up with this stuff? Organic beauty products protect your skin from harmful pollutants and won’t clog your pores. Plus, there are no chemicals, which is beneficial to those with sensitive skin.

# Chlorine turns hair green…
It’s actually copper which does this. If a pool isn’t properly looked after it can produce copper, which can turn your hair green. Mostly for blondes because they have lighter pigments. Just use a low pH shampoo to rid your hair of that greeny tinge.

#  Pumping mascara helps with application…

This movement of pumping the wand in and out of the mascara actually dries it out, therefore you’re decreasing its life span. Massive sad face!

# Obsessively washing your face will rid skin of acne…

This will actually dry out the natural oils in the skin, which triggers your skin to think, “OH NO lets produce even more oil”. So, stick to washing your face twice daily.
