Work that hair out...

I'm a regular at the gym. I do love a good workout, sweating out toxins, getting my heart rate up, and knowing I've burnt a few calories here and there definitely helps! One thing that seems to stump me is my hair. I always like it tied back, out of my face and secure, but I find it so boring working the same gym up-do. So, I've decided to try out a few for you.

Braid it
Tonight, I got my french on...french braid that is, however I did rough up the front a bit so I didn't look so 'girly'. I must admit, I felt a little bit like Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider!

Put a knot in it
We had the most beautiful weather in Sydney over the weekend and I thought I should take advantage of it. I went for a bay run and whipped my hair up into a top knot. At first it didn't go so well because I was jumping up and down so much...but, I then secured it with another twist of the elastic. Instant face lift!

Just horsing around
The classic gym girl hair-do' is probably the ponytail, yes? Oh, I do love a great ponytail NNNAAAYYY! Change things up a little, wear it high like Gwyneth, or low like Lauren and see what suits. You could even take things further and add braid the front of your hair, then tie it all into a ponytail. So boxer-girl chic!

Don't be shy to play around with hair accessories too. I love wearing headbands to the gym!

Case of the Corals...

I'm dreaming of coral, I see it everywhere...I think this means I need to start wearing it on my tips! There are a few nail polish corals I'm lusting after. OPI Nail Polish in On the Same Paige, Illamasqua Lament Nail Vanish and Revlon Nail Polish in Demure.

It’s not all about black and dark shades. The sunny months are around the corner, so let’s brighten things up a little!

Lucky Dip...

Here are my picks for the week! The essentials to add to your beauty bags FABs.

Revlon Luxurious Smoky Crayon $23.95

MAC Blot Film $21

Carmex Lip Balm Squeeze Tube $5.99

MAC Blot Film: Keep in your handbag to remove excess oil, especially as we get closer to the first days of summer!

Revlon Luxurious Smoky Crayon: As you probably know by now, I'm definitely a Revlon girl (it's kind of hard not to be, right?). This Crayon is surely one for all you smokey eye lovers. It's so soft, it goes on like cream and from there it's so easy to blend to create your desired look.

Carmex Lip Balm Squeeze Tube: The go-to lip balm! This heals even the most chapped girls' lips, or just use for a glossy finish to protect that pout.

Brush up on hair tools...

Ever thought your brush was more than just a brush? A brush can achieve hairstyles, curls and evenly distributes your hair's natural oils. They're a necessity, just like shampoo and conditioner. Every brush is unique and creates its own individual style, so get choosey!

The Paddle Brush

If you're after sleek and smooth locks with a boost of shine, then opt for a paddle brush. This style of brush includes ion bristles to reduce static, so the cuticles of the hair lie flat, making it the perfect choice for that at-home salon look!

A paddle brush is quite large, with a flat, wide head, usually crafted out of timber or plastic. The bristles tend to be nylon, ball-tipped nylon, pure boar, or a mix of the two. The bristles are woven into an air cushion, providing a stimulating scalp massage. This allows the oils on your roots to be taken all the way down to your ends.

The Military Brush

Held in the palm of your hand, the military brush is more suited to the male side of the bathroom. Like the paddle brush, the military one also consists of bristles sitting on an air cushion to stimulate hair growth.
With a selection of styles to choose from, the military brush is ideal for your man....check out the rest of my article here...cosmetic beauty directory

Dedication...

You may know by now that I'm a big fan of the fashionista twin set. I'm speaking the language of Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen of course. From their beach bed hair, to their minimalistic day makeup, and not to mention the outfits! Yes, I'd like to wear designer labels everyday of my life too!

Saving Grace...

I had the nicest time hitting the beach with my girly, Anya. We hit the sand and surf on Saturday for a cheeky goss sesh and not to mention to get a HEALTHY tan on. I can't tell how I hate putting sunscreen on, it gets everywhere and you get that pasty, pale look! However, I'd rather look like that instead of developing SKIN CANCER later on in life! Have I scared you to death? Neutrogena has come to my rescue with their spray-on sunscreen. Ahhh yes, that's right, a spray-on suncreen. No pasty white face, no rubbing action needed, just simply spray all over.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist SPF 30+ does work, it's not a gimmick. You can't even feel it on your skin! Okay, I'll stop sounding like a press release now. What many people don't understand is that you still get a tan with sunscreen, it does not hinder this. What sunscreen does stop is the burning!!!

Enjoy the sun in a smart way, you're skin will definitely appreciate it a lot further down the track.

Beach Babe...

Yes, that's right, it's time to whip out the beach spray again! I get so excited for the summer because it basically means I need to put no, or little effort into my do'. Simply spray a little sea salt product to wet hair, let it dry naturally...and voila!

If there is one thing you invest in for summer, it needs to be Lee Stafford Sea Salt Spray! I've been using this product for a year now. It's my go-to bad hair day formula. It doesn't leave hair feeling crusty (I hate that!), it gives you that natural wavy look we all love!

Quirky...

I love it when I see girls on the street rockin' their own look. I hate seeing a sea of the same outfits, the same hairstyles, the same makeup, the same...well you get the point. Find out what your little quirk is and accentuate it! Maybe you love colour, or hats are your thing, or perhaps (like myself) you love to pack on the chunky jewellery?!

1960...

I purchased these yesterday. I have wanted these for so long, so I can't even explain to you how happy I am to have these on my face!

A beauty investment...

Six crayons, six looks and six shadows for $110. I know you're thinking, CRAP that's a lot of dosh, well considering just one of these Touch Shadow Pencils by NARS costs $58, I'd say you've got the better end of the deal.

This is one of NARS' new releases for the Christmas period. Yes, it's a great gift idea, but what about for yourself? These shadow sticks aren't your run-of-the-mill colours of black and brown. You've got shades with names like Tall Tale, Ballets Russes and Skorpios. You can use them as an eye shadow applicator, or switch it up and use it as a liner. One of my favourite looks at the moment is applying an out-there liner to my bottom lash line!

Top-down
Ballets Russes – silver
Skorpios – copper
Palladium – turquoise with silver glitter
Magic Moon – deep metallic navy blue
Tell Tale – deep metallic purple
Aigle Noir – black infused with gold shimmer

Fluro is the word...

I went back to American Apparel yesterday, bypassing mouth watering clothing, to pick up another Neon Nail Polish colour. Lellow...I mean Yellow!
