A Masters in winging it...

You know how much I enjoy a winged liner. I just get so excited seeing girls who have taken the time to perfect the winged look with the right tools. But, there are so many different types of winged looks, so you don't have to follow the traditional look.

Here are a few ideas to get you started!

ROC Climbing...

I had one of those moments again where I'm just strolling along and then suddenly (without my knowledge) end up buying a pair of shoes. Okay, so I was definitely aware I was buying them, but they were calling me so I had to purchase them!

I'll be sporting these puppies tonight, so my outfit choice will purely revolve around these ROCs, FABS!

Rub-a-dub-dub...

I've been sporting yellow nails for the past two days. Yes, I'm talking about nail polish colour, not the unhealthy nail condition.

I lust over coloured nails because they can really add to your look. Today I wore a black jacket, white t-shirt, red pants, which was complemented by yellow nails. A great combo if I do say so myself.

Try Australis Nail Colour in rub-a-dub-dub. It's a great pastel for spring/summer...

Wiped Out....

I can't stress how important it is to wipe off your makeup. Washing it just wont do! This is one of the many beauty commandments one must vow to follow.
I love Nivea wipes because they're soft, they remove waterproof makeup and they're hydrating. Then follow by washing your face to rid of any excess. You'll definitely notice a difference in your skin.

The gift that keeps giving...

I have discovered THE girly gift idea! Dead serious here FABS. I have landed upon the perfect box of goodies any gal would be happy to open...or perhaps a lovely gift for yourself?
I love my little box of goodies. I'm my box there is an OPI nail polish in Bubble Bath, a Dermalogica Hydtrating Mask (which I desperately needed!), hand essentials from NOUGAT, Kerastase Hair Oil (ah yes, I'll be buying one of those), along with several other beauty essentials.

I've been trying them all out for you over the last few days. You'd be surprised how far a small tube of product will take you through the week (with plenty leftover).

The best thing? You can subscribe to receive a box of your own every month with 5-6 samples of great quality skincare, makeup, hair and body brands. I'm thinking of purchasing a few as gift ideas for Chrissie for friends and fam...they'll love me! I shall also become a subscriber, why not? $14.95 a month...SOLD!

See below to click on their link and to see pix of my goodies...

Cafe latte anyone?

Sometimes our amazing, loving, favourite black liner and pencil are a little too over-the-top for the day time, but we still like to make our eyes defined and pop, right? Swap black for brown! Green and blue eyes will definitely benefit from this change because brown is a complementing colour. Follow Rachel Bilson's lead...

Prime Plaits...

Is a little feminine hair inspiration needed? Nothing says "soft, subtle and sweet" like a great plait. Here are a few picks to get you trying out a few new looks...

Barely There...

Sorry FABs, I left you hangin' for a few days why I took some time off to dip and dabble in a few social affairs. Hope your weekend was swell, especially because the weather here in Sydney was beautiful. It got me thinking about that 'barely-there-big-brow-look".
During the day it's important not to look so Priscilla Queen of the Desert, it's a tad much and you'll end up drawing the wrong attention. So, this weekend I thought about the essentials for a fresh FAB face and I've come up with five tips & tricks to get you sorted...

Tip 1# Swap your foundation for a sheer tinted moisturiser. Easy enough right? Well, there are a lot of different types of tinted moisturisers out there. Some offer more coverage, while others are simply there for a natural-looking healthy glow (these are the ones I go for!). I am crushing on Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturiser ($30.00).

Tip 2# It ain't a party without a little cheeky action, so go soft with your blush choice. Sweep a soft pink powder blush over your apples, or perhaps your choice is a cream blush, yes? Don't over do it and make sure you're in natural light when applying blush!

Tip 3# Are your brows in check? STOP with the tweezers, STOP with the shaping and STOP with the fixation! Natural brows are in. But, this doesn't mean I'm encouraging you to let your brows run wild, it just means 'keep it simple'. I hardly touch my eyebrows. Just grab and eyebrow brush, spray a little hair spray on it and comb over brows so they'll stay put!

Tip 4# Add a touch of mascara to the top lashes, particularly on the ends so that they flick out. And let the bottom row take a break!

Tip 5# Instead of always rocking the topknot as your go-to bad hair day hairstyle, flip your hair forward, spray over with hairspray and flick it back. Adjust and style to your desired look and voila! I like to grab my short front bits and plait them back to the sides, but work with what suits you.

Tips from the top...

Rae "Rockstar" Morris was at IMATS this year and I was lucky enough to listen in on some of her no 1# tips to makeup. She says the most common question people ask her is about how to create the perfect smokey eye. I'll agree here. I can do a great brown smokey eye, but I struggle to create a sexy black eye (I feel like my eyes look like the size of a pea).

Tip 1# for the sexiest eye is to look at yourself in the mirror, find the highest part of your eye (which will be in the middle of the top lid). Make sure when you create your smokey eye that the shadow goes this high (you'll notice the difference)...but, have you noticed that sometimes your eyes shrink when you add black? Well Rae's tip is to now find the lowest part of your eye, which will be the middle of the bottom eye line. Now, create a straight line from that point and then blend the pencil in. OMG hello sexy! Goodbye pea sized eyes!

Bronzing tip 1#: apply bronzer to your hairline (not all over your forehead). This makes you look tanned and it looks so natural because this is where we usually tan the most. Another top tip is to NOT apply bronzer to your cheeks. I know some of you go a tad wild with the bronzing brush (too much bronzer = a dirty face), so leave the cheeks for a subtle cheek stain and then you have Rae's permission to add a lil tiny touch of bronzer over the top!

Avoid smiling when you put blush on. When you're applying it this way your blush will be closer to your jawline. Rae says it's best to just apply blush without smiling to make sure we only apply it to our gorgeous cheek bones.

Foundation tip 1#: Match you foundation to your chest..not neck, CHEST!

If you're creating a winged liner (oh I do love a nice wing!) avoid applying mascara to the bottom lashes.

Just a few little hints from a pro!

In the navy...

Are you not following the bold colour movement? Dark nail colours are great because they go with everything, but from time to time it's always good to branch out. I'm loving this Orly nail polish in La Playa. It adds a hint of colour to your outfit without overwhelming onlookers...
