The Jersey Shore and Jerseylicious have made the smokey eye famous...not always in a good way. Let's be honest. BUT! I'm glad they've brought attention to the fact that too much is not a good look. Over doing it can make you look like a Drag Queen or make you look like a completely different person. I'm always saying that makeup should ENHANCE your beauty not COVER IT UP!
Brown is a flattering shade on all FAB beauties, so here are the tips and tricks to a great smokey eye look!
Tip 1: Make sure to prime the eye, with a concealer or eye primer. This will allow the shadow to last longer and you don't get that awful crease look.
Tip 2: Start with a neutral brown. Think of a shade in between dark brown and a neutral, that's the colour! Let's go with calling it coffee?! Try Face of Australia Eyeshadow in Jasper. Sweep the shadow over the entire eyelid.
Tip 3: Now, apply a brown liner to the upper lash line, creating a more amplified look later, Run your finger over the line to smudge. It’s best to smudge liner than applying shadow because the liner will set and not flake.
Tip 4: Where’s your dark brown shadow? I love Napoleon Perdis Eye Patrol in Private Boudoir, it has tiny gold flakes in it, ah-mazing! Grab an eye shadow brush and begin applying from the lash line upwards. DON’T go above the crease, unless you will be visiting the Jersey House soon. Also, try not to get too much darkness near the inner or the eye…
Tip 5: Apply a gold shadow to the inner corner of the eye to widen them, so seductive! You could even take it a step further and also add it to the brown bone to highlight those show stopping features. LOVE!
