Coco Chanel...

It began with a spritz of perfume, which would become known as one of the most sort after fragrances in the world, Chanel No. 5.

Born Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel in 1883, life didn’t start off as easily as one might think for the Chanel girl. Her mother died when she was aged, 12 and her father abandoned her shortly after, leaving Coco to be raised by nuns in a provincial orphanage.

Her name was revealed to Paris when she began making hats for the socialites of French society. Soon becoming the classiest female entrepreneur of the twentieth century.

Coco Chanel introduced her signature cardigan jacket in 1925 and signature "little black dress" in 1926, creating a timeless style that wouldn’t change from generation to generation, a major staying power in the company’s popular appeal. She became an international figure everywhere in her 50’s (her prime years).

FAB Quotes:

My favourite quote by Coco, I live my life by this, “I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny”.

“Fashion is architecture: it is a matter of proportions.”

“Fashion has become a joke. The designers have forgotten that there are women inside the dresses. Most women dress for men and want to be admired. But they must also be able to move, to get into a car without bursting their seams! Clothes must have a natural shape.”

‘"Where should one use perfume?" a young woman asked. "Wherever one wants to be kissed," I said.’ This would mean that I like to be kissed on my writs, neck, chest…and I love to sprits and then walk through, so pretty much I like to be kissed all over!
“A fashion that does not reach the streets is not a fashion.”
