The experience of applying false lashes isn’t always a fun one. They look amazing when they’re on, but getting them to stick on your eyelid is the challenge. A lot of my friends have been asking me about falsies so I thought it would be a good idea to post a blog on a step-by-step guide to amazing show-stopping lashes!
Step 1: It’s important to choose the right lashes. Whether you’re after a simple or out-there lash set will depend on the occasion…or maybe you don’t need one. I suggest you have a look around before pouncing at the first pair you see.
Step 2: Apply mascara to lashes before the fake ones go on. I learnt this trick a year ago and it’s been a handy piece of beauty wisdom! You skip that awful moment of accidently ripping your fake lashes off with the mascara wand. My favourite mascara of the moment is Revlon Custom Eyes. It has the best mascara brush I have come across, with the applicator to add more length and drama with its twist wand. When applying mascara lashes separate and you’re left with a purely natural but defining look!
Step 3: Cut, Cut, Cut! Put your fake lash up to your eyelash rim, too long? This is usually the case. It’s important to cut the lash to avoid that droopy look at the end of the eye. Whatever you do don’t throw them away! You can re-use them at a later date by applying them to the edge of the top eye rim to give the appearance of a cat’s eye.
Step 4: Now that I’ve cut my Benefit Naturally Lush Lashes, I look for my tweezers for help! Using your fingers get’s messy and the glue starts sticking to your fingers and then to parts of your face. Ekkk! Your falsies would have come with a glue or adhesive, apply the glue to the rim of the fake eyelash. WE DO NOT APPLY THE GLUE DIRECTLY TO THE EYELID!
Step 5: Leave the glue for 20 seconds then apply the false lash to your eyelash rim, start from the outer corner of the eye and word towards the inner corner. Leave the eye closed, allowing the glue to dry.
Step 6: Now that the tricky part is over whip out your liquid liner, I swear by Stilla Stay All Day Liquid Liner.
Voila!
I'm seriously impressed. I've got a lot to learn...:)
